"Bulb is a magazine aimed at teenagers who need a voice to represent them regarding
important global and political issues.
I was asked to Design and implement editorial concepts in the pilot issue." From Bulbs Website -- 'We've all seen them on the shelves - vacuous magazines claiming to be "written in a language young people can understand" while Team Bush and Blair carry on like there's no-one looking.
BULB is Britain's first and only global issues magazine aimed at and largely written
by young people. BULB is written and illustrated mostly by young people (under 23s) from around the world and sold in Britain through a network of vendors in schools and festivals, subscriptions and retail outlets. All profits made are put back into the social objectives of the magazine through providing workshops in global issues, journalism, design, campaigning, team work and running a co-operative enterprise. BULB was launched by Amaranta Wright, critically acclaimed author of "Ripped and Torn:Levi's Latin America and the Blue Jean Dream," and is approaching it's first anniversary.' |
