Designbern represents the art direction, design, illustration and musings of all round nice guy Bernard Barsley. I have been involved in all things digital since graduating from Central Saint Martins with a degree in graphic design.
I am a keen cyclist, love travelling and live in NW London after my girlfriend convinced me to move from my beloved SE London.
Experience
2011 – Present: Digital Design Director at The College
The College creates winning strategies for brand, reporting and digital communication. As a team leader, I oversee all digital creative within The College’s design team from conception through to final solution.
2008 to 2011 – Senior Designer at Harvest Digital
As Harvest Digitals Senior Designer I was responsible for concept generation and delivery of design projects including: websites, microsites, banner campaigns (often several running in parallel), multinational email campaigns, pitch artwork and scamping. I also art direct junior designers and freelancers.
2006 to 2008 – Designer at XM London
Whilst a designer at XM London I worked on a wide variety of projects, including banner creation and build, microsites, website design, pitch concepts including final art work, and art direction of digital campaigns within a creative team.
2004 – 2006: Designer at Kilroy James
As the designer at Kilroy James I was responsible for all creative
work within this small company, from initial concepting through to
final delivery.
