Access to healthcare in remote rural area’s of Africa is a problem leading to conditions going untreated and people needlessly suffering.
As a social enterprise Afya Pap’s primary objective is to improve chronic care support and bridging the information access and remote patient monitoring gap.
To solve this problem I designed the prototype of Afya Pap which would offer a non-drug plan for individuals with chronic illnesses and tackle each person’s challenges.

Leading both brand and product design, I set about delivering a ground breaking service that would improve the lives of people in rural area’s of Aftica, starting with Kenya.
Embedding into the core team I began stakeholder interviews alongside research of existing products. It became clear the first phase of the project required a prototype made using Sketch &
This prototype was pivotal in gaining real feedback from interview with potential users in Kenya.
Alongside the prototype development, my role began to expand resulting in significant influence across brand, marketing and investments stakeholder engagement.

Once we where confident in the direction of the prototype we set about developing the app. I leased between stakeholders and the development team to ensure a smooth development of the application.
The result was a revolutionary app that delivered health care support and education to those who needed it most.

To this day Afya Pap has been downloaded by over 100,000 people and continues to deliver a variety of services including a personalised health chat, Direct-To-doctor communication and health insights.
